Why Men Should Always Take The Lead In a Relationship. When we talk about relationships, the word often makes us think of a woman and a man.
In most cases, we automatically assume that the man is leading the woman, the woman is following the man, and so on. But how does this work? Should the man be the one taking the lead in the relationship, or should the woman?
If you’re wondering the same thing, leading in a relationship keep reading because we’re going to give you the short answer. The leading and following roles in a relationship are a lot more complicated than they seem at first glance. They require flexibility, a lot of trusts, and a sense of sharing.
In this post, we’re going to explore why men should always take the lead in a relationship, no matter who they are.
Men who lead are happier
The most obvious reason why men should always take the lead in a relationship is that they have more testosterone than women.
Testosterone is important because it’s associated with dominance, aggression, and leadership. Yes, as you might’ve suspected, it also makes men bigger and stronger than women (until we get a female candidate for president that can deadlift more than her male competitors).
But if we dig deeper into human evolution and social science, there are other things to consider here. Leading in your relationship: did you know that testosterone can actually help make you more assertive?
Testosterone can make you more resilient to rejection and failure. So if your partner doesn’t want to do something—like go on a date you planned or try the new restaurant where all their friends would be jealous of them for having such a cool partner—it just means that their ability to respond appropriately has been impaired by their lack of testosterone.
And isn’t this just another reason why men should have the final say?
The Man should be in Charge of the Relationship
Here is a general rule to live by: the man should always be in control of the relationship.
Why? Because men are far more advanced than women both intellectually and emotionally. It takes a special man to not only recognize this but also accept it—even relish it. You may think that I’m some sort of chauvinist, or that I believe women are mere playthings for men.
But let me assure you nothing could be further from the truth! Men and women were designed to complement each other; we need each other to become complete (think Ying Yang). Each has strengths and weaknesses, gifts and skills that when combined make us great.
It’ll make her like you more
In order to maintain a healthy, strong relationship, you need to be able to take charge. And I don’t mean that you have to be aggressive or controlling; rather, you have to take the role of leadership.
Taking the lead in a relationship is not just an expectation that women have; it’s also something men want. Women may complain about their husbands taking command and not letting them make decisions, but the truth is that they actually want their men to step up when they can’t make a decision on their own.
Women will wait for their men to tell them what they should do instead of taking the initiative themselves. If you’re one of those guys who waits around for his girlfriend or wife to make all the decisions, then this can become quite problematic over time because it leads your woman to feel like she’s doing all the work in your relationship and that she has no control over her own life.
A Commitment Signal
By taking the lead, you are showing your partner that you are committed to the relationship. In a relationship, the commitment signal is everything.
This is the reason why women in relationships with commitment-phobic men will often say that they are not ready to get married. Women are often attracted to the idea of marriage because it is a commitment signal. When a woman is in a relationship with a man who is always asking her to take the lead, she will often feel committed as well.
It Sets the Bar High
Most women are attracted to men who treat them with respect. If you are constantly demanding that your partner do things for you, she will be turned off. If you are taking initiative and proving that you are worthy of her, you are setting a high bar.
When a woman is in a relationship with a man who is always trying to “win,” it can be difficult for her. This isn’t because she doesn’t want to work for it or that she is a bad person; it’s because her identity can change as a result of being with a man who constantly demands respect.
Leading Shows You Care
More often than not, Leading in your relationship with women shows you are the one who care about all of the little things in a relationship. They like to feel special and adored, which can be difficult for men who rarely express emotions. Unfortunately, many men miss this important step in a relationship.
If you care about your partner and want to make sure that you show it, take the initiative. Leading in your relationship can be as simple as asking her if she wants to go for a walk with her or go on a date with you. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been going out for weeks or even months, take the initiative to show her that you care.
Signs that show a man is not leading a relationship
● Worrying about what your girlfriend might think.
● Second-guessing yourself.
● Acting like a girl trying to get his approval.
● Focusing on what she wants and not what you want.
● Talking more than leading.
● Asking for permission.
● Listening to her advice on what you should do as a man.
Relationships are difficult, exciting, and rewarding. We all have a lot (in relationships) to learn about each other, but it’s important to remember that every relationship is unique and deserves respect, honesty, and communication.
Taking charge on a daily basis doesn’t show respect, honesty, or communication. You must always lead your relationship in order to maintain respect, honesty, and communication.
Every relationship is different. You must lead a relationship in the way that is best suited for your relationship.
