And, if you have dated a few women already, you may agree with this. They don’t tend to tell you directly what they want or what they think, much less what they feel. So, to help you figure out if a woman is actually interested in you, here are a few tips to guide you.

She lets you know by giggling, or showing you in many different ways that she thinks you’re funny. Have you ever tried to win a girl over with your sense of humor because you heard women like funny guys?

Well, that’s because one of the things women tend to do when they’re trying to show a guy that they are interested in him is laugh at all of their jokes.

It doesn’t matter if they are funny or not, they will make an effort to laugh and to sound genuine. They might also laugh at things you say or do that aren’t particularly funny either.

She asks for your help even for things she could do by herself. You may not know this, but many women, when they were little, were taught that men find helpless women more attractive.

While finding helpless girls attractive may be true for some men but not for others, women like to follow this rule.

Even though they can manage to do many things on their own without having to rely on other people’s help, sometimes, when they are around a man they’re interested in, they pretend they need help.

Sometimes, this can be very exaggerated for example, helping put on a coat, open the door to her house, or the classic one, open a tight-closed jar.

She will make up excuses to be near you

Women can be more subtle when they want to show their interest in a person. So, instead of just expressing it verbally, a woman may find excuses to be near the man she likes.

If you’re at a social gathering, she finds an excuse to distance herself from her group of friends and sit next to you or, if you’re going somewhere to grab something she will offer her help and go with you. Use these opportunities to show that you’re interested in her as well.

She asks many questions to engage in conversation. If, in your opinion, women can be very talkative on dates you’re in luck. When women aren’t interested in a person they ignore them or pay them small attention.

On the other hand, when they are very interested in someone, they try to make the conversation interesting.

One of the techniques they use is by asking you questions about yourself to make you talk. They don’t tend to talk about themselves as much so as not to appear egocentric.

They want to show that they care about what you say.

She sends you texts telling small details of her day

Much like the example above, when a woman is interested in you, she wants to keep the conversation active and interesting, even after you’re date has finished.

You’ll realize that, suddenly, you’re receiving many small, but meaningful texts from her telling you mundane things about her day. It’s not that she thinks those things are extremely interesting, she’s just trying to find an excuse to talk to you.

She hints that she wants to share her life with you. It’s not everyone who feels comfortable about sharing their life shortly after they met someone, especially women.

If you see that a woman is telling you things about her personal life, related to her past or not, that means that she’s trying to bring you closer to her. She’s trying to make herself vulnerable around you, letting you know that she trusts you with her most intimate secrets about her life.

She makes prolonged eye contact. As humans, we avoid making eye contact when we feel uncomfortable but make eye contact when we want to feel closer to someone.

Following the same logic, when a woman likes you, not only will she make eye contact with you, but she will make sure not to break it as well. She wants you to know that she sees you and you have her full attention.

She tries to find out if you already have a girlfriend

Like everyone, women don’t like to purposefully chase after someone who’s already committed, so they will try to bring into the conversation the topic of partners.

It may sound naïve or it may just appear that she’s making small talk, but in truth, she’s testing the waters without making seem too obvious that, if you do have a girlfriend, she will just matter-of-factly process the information to not give the impression that she’s disappointed.

You can anticipate this by casually telling her for how long you have been single.

She shows interest in your hobbies. One good way to see if a woman likes you is by sharing with her what you do in your free time. One tip is to let her in on the most boring thing you do in your free time and, if she finds it interesting or even says she might do the same, then she likes you.

She gives you compliments

The first compliments that men usually give to women are related to their appearance, but women do the opposite. They usually tell you how polite you are or how you make any conversation interesting.

Stay alert for compliments like those, because women don’t give them freely. It means that they want you to know how they appreciate you.

She asks for your opinion about her clothes

When a woman casually asks your opinion about something she’s wearing it’s because she’s inviting you to compliment her. Don’t hesitate to do so in this case, because she will feel more confident about your feelings for her.

Sometimes it’s hard to compliment a woman on her appearance without offending her so, if she’s giving you clues about what to compliment, you should take the lead.
